Columbus Leather Edge Wax Stick is a premium Japanese leather edge wax used as a final leather edge finish for polished, protected and professional-looking edges. It can be applied after burnishing with water, saddle soap or Seiwa Tokonole, and can also be used over fully cured Fenice Edge Paint as a final polishing layer. It also works as a stitching thread wax to reduce friction while hand sewing. Available in Neutral, Black and Dark Brown.

Key Features:

  • Edge polisher: A sleek, glossy edge on your leather goods, giving them a refined and professional look.
  • Thread lubrication: When applied on thread, it makes the thread smooth and prevents fraying. It also helps waterproof stitch holes.
  • Easy Application: Apply directly by rubbing onto the edges. Now you can either rub vigorously or apply heat for a shiny finish.
  • Versatile Use: Ideal for various leather items such as wallets, belts, handbags, and more.
  • Available Colors: Currently offered in Black, Neutral and Dark Brown, with plans to introduce additional colors soon.

Using Columbus Leather Edge Wax for Professional Edge Finishing:

For best results, prepare the leather edge before applying Columbus Leather Edge Wax Stick. Burnish the edge first with water, saddle soap, or Seiwa Tokonole until it is smooth and compact. If you're using Fenice Edge Paint, apply and finish the paint as recommended, then use Columbus Leather Edge Wax Stick as a final polishing step to add a smoother feel and a subtle sheen.

Rub the wax directly onto the finished edge, then buff with canvas, a soft cloth, or a heated edge iron for a refined finish. Neutral is ideal for natural, tan, and light-coloured leather. Black is best for black leather, while Dark Brown blends well with brown and darker vegetable-tanned leathers. The wax can also be lightly applied to hand-stitching thread to reduce friction and help it glide more smoothly through the leather during stitching.

How to Use:

  • Direct Application: Rub the wax stick directly onto the leather edges.
  • Heat Application: For a smoother finish, gently heat the wax to soften it before applying.
  • Burnishing: After application, use a burnishing tool or cloth to polish the edges to a desired shine.

Should I use Tokonole before Columbus Leather Edge Wax?
