Craft Sha Japan: Premium Leather Dyes & Finishes Since 1963

When it comes to the iconic "Japanese style" of leatherwork, known for its incredible detail and rich, vintage patinas, Craft Sha (Craft & Co., Ltd.) is the gold standard. Established in 1963 in Tokyo, Craft Sha has spent over 60 years perfecting the chemicals and finishes used by master artisans worldwide. Sneaky Leather brings these essential Japanese workshop staples directly to crafters in India.

Why Craft Sha?

  • Heritage Quality: Developed in Tokyo over six decades to meet the high standards of Japanese leathercraft.

  • Depth of Color: Their antique finishes are designed to highlight every detail of your carving and stamping work.

  • Pure Formulations: Craft Sha oils are highly refined to penetrate deep into leather fibers without leaving a sticky residue.

  • Professional Consistency: Trusted by pros because the formula you buy today will perform exactly like the one you buy next year.

The "Vintage Finish" Routine

Pro Tip: Leather is a natural material and reacts differently to every finish. Always perform a small patch test on a scrap piece of the same leather before applying to your final project to ensure the color and penetration meet your expectations.

  1. Condition: Apply a light coat of Craft Sha Pure Neatsfoot Oil to your veg-tan leather to restore moisture after carving.

  2. Apply Antique: Use a soft cloth or wool dauber to apply Craft Sha Antique Carving Dye in circular motions, ensuring it gets into the stamped recesses.

  3. Wipe Highlights: Immediately wipe the surface with a clean, slightly damp cloth to remove excess dye from the raised areas.

  4. Seal: Once dry, apply a clear topcoat to lock in the antique look and protect the leather.

Pair these world-class finishes with precision Japanese tools from our Seiwa Japan Collection.
